Kristina Podobed was born in 1994 in Odesa, Ukraine, and has lived and worked in France since the war. In her work, Podobed is unapologetic about her vision.
In her world, women are seen alone in nature, and most women are reflective and poetic. Podobed’s women are sensitive, and she doesn’t hesitate to photograph their bodies.
Speaking to Kristina in 2018 at her home in Kyiv, she said, “Women are beautiful to me, their bodies have shape, which I find inspiring and captivating.”
She was matter-of-fact about it, and I smiled as there was no hesitation to just be herself.
